‘Werewolf Boy‘, starring Song Joong Ki and Park Bo Young, is poised to break the box office records for romantic comedy, after having shattered the record for the melodrama genre.
As reported by the Film Council on December 3rd, ‘Werewolf Boy’ has gathered 92,906 moviegoers on December 2nd, taking the #3 spot at the box office. So far, ‘Werewolf Boy’ has drawn 6,519,786 moviegoers so far.
‘Werewolf Boy’ premiered on October 31st and has changed the equation for the off season at the box office, breaking the record for the melodrama genre set by ‘Architecture 101′ which had drawn 4.1 million moviegoers. In effect, ‘Werewolf Boy’ had broken through the 6 million mark in just 26 days.
The film is now poised to break the record set by the romantic comedy genre as well. Currently, ’200 Pounds Beauty’ holds the record for the romantic comedy genre at 6,619,498 moviegoers.
It is the 5th week since ‘Werewolf Boy’ premiered but it is still drawing more than 50,000 moviegoers on weekdays, thus the outlook is that it will easily break the 7 million mark.
