Kara’s ‘Super Girl’ reclaims the #1 spot on Oricon Chart

Girl group Kara‘s full 2nd Japanese album ‘Super Girl’ has reclaimed the #1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Chart 4 weeks after release.

‘Super Girl’ was released on December 18th and it climbed to the #1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Chart in Japan. ‘Super Girl’ dropped from the #1 spot it had occupied the first week but after 4 weeks since release, it took the #1 spot 6 days in a row on the Daily Chart and reclaimed the top spot on the Weekly Chart too.

According to Kara’s management company DSP Media, so far 450,000 copies of ‘Super Girl’ have been sold and 650,000 have been shipped.

The response to ‘Super Girl’ is without particular promotional activities for the album, proving the popularity of Kara in Japan. There are costume and picture displays, relaying of messages from Kara, and music video viewing in Nagoya (December 16th through 30th) and in Sapporo (December 17th through 25th) and these events alone are already drawing a lot of attention from the fans.

Kara members are not only working on their individual projects through variety, musical, drama, and other areas but are working a busy schedule in both Korea and Japan for the year’s end gayo festivals and awards ceremonies.
