Gaebaek’s Lee Seo Jin and Hyomin have become husband and wife.
On episode 31 of MBC ‘Gaebaek’ aired on the 7th, Choyoung (Hyomin) is critically wounded trying to save Gaebaek (Lee Seo Jin) from Euja‘s (Jo Jae Hyun) blade. Choyoung confesses all of her love to Gaebaek who looks after her after the injury.
Fast forward 12 years and much has changed. Baekjae has not been able to name Eungo‘s (Song Ji Hyo) son, Hyo as the next heir to the throne. Shinra has expanded their territory in Gaebaek’s absence.
Gaebaek was living as a simple farmer with Choyoung in the village where the people he once saved now lived. By his side there were his brothers by oath, Choyoung, and his children.
Gaebaek gently embraced Choyoung and said, “My father told me to throw away the sword and to live off the land. He would be happy if he saw me today” and he expressed his content for the simple life.

From what I know the story should end tragically for our stars. I think Baekjae is eventually conquered by Shinra thanks to King Euja’s stupidity and Gaebaek dies at the hand of the great general of Shinra Kim Yoo Shin. Historically there is no Choyoung I don’t think but I think he did have a wife of a common background. Anyways, I’m curious to see how they’ll end the drama.

I knew they were getting married but I was hoping it wold take place much sooner in the plot. Manny is right, i think the drama is coming to an end.
