Kang Ho Dong is no longer on ’1 Night 2 Days’ nor ‘Strong Heart’. The way the two programs closed the doors on that chapter seemed quite different though.
KBS 2TV’s ’1 Night 2 Days’ showed the last episode with Kang Ho Dong on September 25th and SBS‘s ‘Strong Heart’ on September 27th.
On ’1 Night 2 Days’, the last episode of the ‘Viewer’s Tour #3′ showed Kang Ho Dong for the last time. At the end of the episode viewers and the members alike everyone looked sad as the ‘Viewer’s Tour’ came to the end but there was no mention of Kang Ho Dong’s future absence in any way. On top of it, other members including Lee Seung Gi were shown saying good bye to others but there was no scene of Kang Ho Dong bidding farewell. Viewers were somewhat disappointed at that and Kang Ho Dong was gone from ’1 Night 2 Days’ just like that.
‘Strong Heart’ was definitely different. On the episode that aired September 27th, some of the scenes with Kang Ho dong were still shown. There were scenes of Lee Seung Gi getting ready for the recording to MC the show and some of the guests cheering him on in the green room as well.
Lee Seung Gi as the solo MC absolutely shined and viewer expectations were sky high for Lee Seung Gi. At the end there were the following words across the screen, “October 4th, MC Seung Gi’s new ‘Strong Heart’ begins” truly lifting the interest and anticipation.
Both ’1 Night 2 Days’ and ‘Strong Heart’ avoided direct mention of the fact that Kang Ho Dong will be gone. On one hand ’1 Night 2 Days’ seemed to really concentrate in wrapping up the ‘Viewers’ tour’ where as ‘Strong Heart’ really shone the light on Lee Seung Gi with the promise of a great show even with the changes.
