It’s been verified that the cast members of ‘1 Night 2 Days‘ have accompanied the embattled comedian Kang Ho Dong to his retirement press conference.
According to a ’1 Night 2 Days’ production staff, the cast members were in shock after learning Kang Ho Dong’s intention to retire, but they tried to console him to the best they could. They were at a loss for words about the retirement, but they respected Kang Ho Dong’s decision and they only wished the best for him.
Another staff member stated, “We have no idea what we are going to do. We are supposed to be together and we don’t know what is the right thing to do. We are in a state of panic”.
Kang Ho Dong has officially announced he is retiring from the entertainment industry indefinitely.

I can’t believe it. He ia one of the most talented entertainers in Korea and this would mean a huge loss. I am so sad to see him go. I think it’s terrible that they drove him out.

The article is correct. Kang Ho Dong used the word ‘Jamjung’, which when used in business terms mixed with other words it can mean ‘temporary agreement’ or ‘tentative agreement’, but in the context Kang Ho Dong had used it does mean ‘Indefinitely’.
When you say ‘Jamjung retirement’ it means retiring without a clear future date of coming back and it also means there might not be a comeback. Therefore ‘indefinite’ is the correct translation and not ‘temporary’.
Kang Ho Dong is a 5 time Ssireum ‘Chuhajangsa’ (Champion) and one of the best TV presenter Korea has ever had. He will not hold a press conference and show tears in front of the nation to tell the Korean people “I will retire temporarily”.
Some things can get lost in translation, but ‘Jamjung retirement’ is not ‘Temporary retirement’. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the question and the clarification. I was really confused due to multiple stories with conflicting info but this helps. It makes me sad that it is indefinite but it also does not mean never again so….

This is so retarded. Inaccuracies in tax reporting happens all the time. Hundreds of thousands might sound like a lot, but the differences will be big because he makes a lot. They investigated, he said he would pay, and that was done and over it. The problem is the immature internet culture in Korea, it’s always been an issue there.
